What happens when three event pros get together to throw a baby shower for a dear friend and beloved colleague? Tons of color, confetti and champagne. Oh, and a drag queen for good measure! We knew we had to go all out for Gina and so we assembled a dream team of vendors to make this baby shower the most special ever.
The shower invitation from Tiny Prints single handedly determined our "theme" and the blank canvas that is Sky Gallery proved to be the perfect backdrop for this vibrant, pop art-inspired shower. To say that us hosts are color lovers is an understatement, so we jumped for joy when we got to go on a mini shopping spree in the Oh Happy Day party shop for our decor and supplies and Michelle continued the trend with her picture perfect photo booth backdrop. One of our favorite details of the shower was incorporating Gina's pregnancy hashtag (#softcarbbaby), a reference to comparing your unborn baby to the size of soft carbs rather than fruits and vegetables. The hashtag inspired the photo booth props and made an appearance on some of the paper goods as well as a keepsake pillow we had made. Then, to send this baby shower completely over the top, we hired a drag queen to surprise Gina and perform a few songs. We honestly couldn't have asked for a more special day to shower one of the most incredible women we know with love.
From Gina Riano-Brault, the mom-to-be:
For me 2015 feels like it might have been the most pivotal year of my life. It's the year I learned about event styling and was introduced to the crazy and ever evolving world of NYC events. But more importantly, through this wacky world of events, parties and weddings I was connected with some of the most amazing ladies I will ever have the pleasure and privilege of calling friends.
It is also the year where I gained another title - soon to be mother. It's been a whirlwind journey of styled shoots, epic wedding installations and sleepless nights of completing handcrafted decor that has allowed me to learn more about myself and my capabilities as a creative and I hope to bring those skills to my next chapter of motherhood.
So what happens when these amazing powerhouses of the wedding and event industry team up to celebrate this new chapter of my life ? MAGIC. Absolute magic happened. I am just BEYOND honored to have had the pleasure of experiencing the most perfect manifestation of love and celebration. Grateful it was also so perfectly captured in images that will be sure to crystallize 2015 as the year that molded me in the best ways possible.
Oh and there was a drag queen. Yup. #babyshowerbarsettoimpossible
